Growing Together

This year has not been best for the flowers in the garden. However, there was a bright spot in the plants delivered by the Growing Together Project. Similar to last year, over 80 gardeners from Sandyhills, Kenmuir and Shettleston New ordered a variety of plants.

In May, these were delivered to the lower hall in the church and from there batched together and distributed around the parishes.

Everyone commented on the superb quality and value for money of the plants. On the following Saturday, we had a plant sale day attended by more than 60, where refreshments were enjoyed and plants, garden furniture, vases and other containers could be bought.

By the end of the day, there was practically nothing left.  Almost £1800 profit was realised for the six projects supported by the Guild.

Many thanks to everyone who supported this worthwhile endeavour and especially the small group of helpers who made it all possible. They have decided to repeat the event next year.
